“Just go. You will have a great weekend with Bobby making great father and son memories. Catelyn is at my parents house for the weekend and I will do something special with Declan so he has a really fun weekend as well.”
That is how it all started. Early Saturday morning, I sent Bobby and my husband off to Canton, Ohio for the NFL hall of fame ceremony. A favorite of the family, Brian Dawkins, was being inducted – right after the season the Eagles won the Super Bowl! I mean, c’mon – it was bound to be fun! And they had a great time,

And the picture that makes me laugh EVERY time I see it as an Eagles fan. Bobby’s feeling on the Tom Brady jersey sighting 🙂
Catelyn was having a great time at my parents for a special weekend with Ninny and Poppy. So, I took Declan to one of his favorite places. The aquarium to see the sea creatures!
Declan had a great time looking at the fish. He did okay with the crowd and was completely enamored with the creatures swimming before him.
Our first time through the shark tunnel didn’t go so well. There was a lot of loud sounds. We covered Declan’s ears and walked right through. We came back around a second time and Declan was able to enjoy all of the sharks above.
And I realized, that the more pictures I took of him, the sillier his faces were becoming.
And so I asked after this selfie, “Declan, did you just make another funny face?”
And he laughed.
“Okay, this time just smile, silly billy Declan!”
And when I looked at the photo, we both just laughed 🙂
Declan was nervous, but successfully crossed the shark bridge, with all of the large sharks below.
We went to the ray pool to pet the rays, but this was as close as Declan’s hand got to one.
Outside the aquarium located in Camden, New Jersey we looked over at the city of Philadelphia.
We came home and Declan enjoyed time with his device and his new octopus plushie.
On Sunday, Catelyn came home and we went to the trampoline park. Declan took my phone to video his time there. So I only got one picture of Catelyn being daring.
This was a very spontaneous weekend, where everyone had a lot of fun!
Wow what a fun time. My daughter doesn’t like loud places either. We do a lot of ear covering. That shark bridge looked scary to me. LOL
Yes, Declan has a hard time with loud places. He covered his ears and we scurried on out of there. I thought so too! Declan wavered on going across it or not, but then decided to – I wasn’t about to try and get a picture of the sharks from the top, so I got across and was able to get one of him 🙂

No chance to”pet” the sea creatures at this aquarium? Think that would be a good experience for Declan!
You know, he mustered up the courage to cross the shark bridge, but not the courage to pet the rays. I added a picture of his attempt!
