Advancing With Autism In His Time

One thing I think we have all learned –

WordPress bloggers rock.

Fellow blogger, Jeff Cann over at The Other Stuff, referred me to the Good Men Project as they were looking for stories on how autism has affected your life.

Not only did I agree to submit a piece, I asked Jeff to recommend which one of my posts to submit.  He chose this one.

I have slightly altered the post from the original, including the title.  If you get a chance, check it out!  Click on the photo caption to be taken to my post on The Good Men Project site.

Thank you, Jeff!

  1. I confess that I am not keeping up with your posts but everytime my mail box gets a notification about your post it gives me immense courage that possibilities, hopes, success are not bleak it’s a matter of how optimist we are and if we are trying or not. Thanks a ton for sharing your experiences.

  2. Goodness Robyn, you’re so right. ‘Comparison is the thief of joy.’ Beautifully and accurately put. So much of your post struck a chord with me and at first it feels heart breaking when you compare them with neurotypical kids. But our kids are so special, and it’s easy to forget that. Nowadays I’m often thankful that Nathan is the way he is, so we have things to be grateful for, and watching him grow up and change, and follow his path through life is fascinating. We get a lot from that. Our kids are little stars. 🙂
