This is our Autism Family.  We are one loving unit and Autism is a part of who we are.

My name is Robyn.  I am a mom of 3 amazing kids.  I’m the one on the far right in the photo.  I have my Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology and spent a lot of years working in the field of Mental Health as a Residential Counselor, Case Manager, Partial Hospital Therapist, Safe School Specialist/Crisis Counselor.  I have now returned home to care for my amazing family.  In my spare time I enjoy reading, writing and long distance running.

This is me and my son, Declan.  Declan has Autism Spectrum Disorder.  Declan had a very typical development until he was 2.  At that point Declan lost his speech and his behavior became very erratic and unsafe.  Declan and the family learned about Autism at that time.  We had to work together, learn together and focus on keeping Declan happy and safe.   With love, support, therapy, guidance and the use of different tools Declan is speaking again.  He is learning at his own pace.  He is happy.

My daughter Catelyn is diagnosed with High Functioning Autism.  We are learning about HFA and how to support her.  Catelyn is involved in therapy and learning about herself and others.  Everyone on the spectrum is different!  I

We like to spread Autism Awareness.  We like to initiate Autism Acceptance and Inclusion with our words and our actions.  We want the Autism Acceptance and Inclusion built in our community to spread to many communities, so Declan and Catelyn are surrounded by love, compassion and understanding.  Where inclusion is fostered and reproduced.

We are an Autism Family.  Working to spread awareness, acceptance and inclusion.
